Wrestler Handprints and Signature (printed Tegata)
Imported from Japan and the Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan (Tokyo Sumo Arena).
Be reminded of your favorite wrestler with a print of a brightly colored red handprint and black autograph, also known as a Tegata. A Tegata is a traditional way of sharing a wrestler's autograph with his supporters. Only wrestlers in the upper two divisions are allowed to produce them.
Each Tegata is printed on a white sheet of paper backed by a firm paperboard with a very small (1/16") gold colored border. The red border in some images is just background color for contrast.
Dimensions of the Tegata are 9.5" w x 10.75" h. Please note that these Tegata, though attractive, are copies and not original handprints/autographs. These copies are actually from Japan and are the same sold at the tournament venues. Originals cost many times more, if you could find an authentic one. We now carry some authenticated original Tegata.
Will add more wrestler's Tegata as they become available. However, the Japan Sumo Association does not very many different wrestlers so only the ones offered here are available from the Kokugikan.
Now that Terunofuji is back in the top division his printed tegata has been reissued and is now back in stock.
Ura's tegata was not available for some time while he was in the lower ranks. Now that he has moved up his tegata is once again available though in short supply from the Kokugikan.
Wrestlers marked as "Retired" will no longer be available after current inventory runs out. Get them while they last.
