Imported from Japan. These Sumo Trading Cards are based on the March 2026 tournament rankings and were issued May 2026. This is the second series of Sumo Trading Cards for 2026. The series is named "Sato" or "Hometown" featuring connections between sumo wrestlers and their hometowns.
Each pack contains 6 random cards. The complete set has all 42 top division (Makuuchi) wrestlers, and 39 subset cards (Hometown Stars, Bonds of Hometown, Brother Wrestlers, Hometown and Sumo Name, and Tour Shots) for a base set total of 81 cards.
There are also parallel Sparkle/Glitter cards for the 42 top division cards and 24 of the other subset cards. One Sparkle card is included in every pack. A Sparkle card includes the same information as the base cards but with a special sparkle background. There are also 2 parallel sparkle card types with each being more rare. Most common are circles with more rare being Hearts then Stars.
There are also 8 different insert cards called Treasure cards. These are special, random inserts of top wrestlers limited to 25 copies each. The following wrestlers have Treasure cards: Hoshoryu, Onosato, Aonishiki, Kotozakura, Kirishima, Takayasu, Wakamotoharu, and Atamifuji. These same wrestlers are also supposed to have Secret cards (different card design) inserted randomly as well.
There are also Autographed cards from different wrestlers. One is included randomly across every few boxes (20 packs per box for a total of 120 cards per box).
The following wrestlers provided Autographs for this series: Hoshoryu, Aonishiki, Kirishima, Wakamotoharu, Atamifuji, Wakatakakage, Yoshinofuji, Hiradoumi, Kotoshoho, Hakunofuji, Tokihayate, Shishi, Oshoumi, and Kotoeiho.
In addition to the normal Autographed cards there are Combination Autographed cards with the autograph of 2 wresters pairing wrestlers from the same hometown or country and brother pairs.
The following have Combination Autographs: Hoshoryu/Kirishima, Aonishiki/Shishi, Wakamotoharu/Wakatakakage, and Kotoshoho/Kotoeiho.
Most of the text on the cards is in Japanese, however, the wrestler's English language name is also on the card for those who don't speak Japanese.
You can find a list of all the wrestlers here in English and Japanese.
As a bonus, we include Ultra Pro clear card sleeves to protect your cards. If you do not wish to receive card sleeves please add the No Sleeves item to your cart.
Empty boxes will be available separately for those who collect boxes or want the card checklist which is on the bottom. This Empty Collector Box is the same box you receive when you order a full box. We call them Collector Boxes.
Please note that there is at most one special insert or autograph card per box. Not all boxes have special insert/autograph cards. Prior series have had one special insert card per 2 - 4 boxes depending on the series. We are able to determine this based on feedback from the collecting community. Each new series may offer more or fewer. The publisher does not release this information.
Happy Collecting.
