Sumo Trading Cards - 2020 series 2

Regular price $5.00 $5.00 Sale

Imported from Japan.  These Sumo trading cards are based on the May & July, 2020 rankings and were issued September, 2020.  The May tournament was canceled so the July tournament used the May rankings. The name of this series is Shin or New.  Each pack contains 5 random cards.  The complete set has all 42 top division (Makuuchi) wrestlers, 22 new desciples, 8 new yokuzuna, and 9 new era cards for a base set total of 81.

There are also 11 different autographed cards.  One is included randomly across every few boxes (24 packs per box).  Autographs are from Takakeisho, Terunofuji, Asanoyama,  Kotoshogiku, Takanosho, Takarafuji, Terutsuyoshi, Kotonowaka, Kotoshoho, Kotoeko, and Kotoyuki.  Most of the text on the cards is in Japanese, however, the wrestler's English language name is also on the card for those of us who don't speak Japanese.

Yokozuna for this series are Hakuho and Kakuryu.

Ozeki are Takakeisho and newly promoted Asanoyama.

Sekiwake are Shodai and Mitakeumi.

Komusubi are Daieisho and Okinoumi.

Check out this link for the Makuuchi rankings from May/July, 2020.

As a bonus, we include Ultra Pro clear card sleeves to protect your cards.  If you do not wish to receive card sleeves please add the No Sleeves item to your cart.

For the first time we now offer a Full Base Set.  Each Full Base Set contains all cards numbered 1 through 81 already removed from the package and inserted into protective sleeves.  Will not include any autograph or special insert cards nor include the box.  Empty boxes will be available separately for those who collect boxes.  This Full Base Set option is for those who want all of the base set cards without having to trade.

We also carry the November 2020 Sumo magazine from Japan which features September tournament winner Shodai on the cover.  In addition, the magazine includes a banzuke and 2 promotional BBM Sumo Trading Cards not included in the regular series packs.  The cards are of Shodai after his championship and Tobizaru with his special prize.  You can find them here.

Happy Collecting.
