Sumo Magazine is published through the Japan Sumo Association. It is issued each month. The magazine is written in Japanese but contains many pictures and has around 130 pages with many colorful pictures and lots of other sumo information. Each issue may have special features which we try to point out below. The magazine is about 7" by 10" inches.

The July 2024 Special Edition of Sumo magazine features 1st time May Champion Onosato on the cover. This Special Edition is all about Onosato commemorating the historic fast rise to his first championship. 52 pages of color photos. Also includes a large, folded poster of Onosato. This Special Edition is about 8.25" x 11.75" which is larger than the regular edition.

Also on the cover are Special Prize winners Takanosho, Abi, and Ura. Inserted into the magazine is a 2 page per day pocket calendar with a variety of other helpful pages for a total of 66 pages. The Official Hakuho Retirement edition of Sumo magazine features retiring Yokozuna Hakuho. In addition to the many high quality photographs of Hakuho there is a large folded poster of Hakuho measuring 20" wide by 28" high. On the reverse of the poster is another image of Hakuho performing his dohyo-iri with attendants Enho and Ishiura. You can find images of the poster in the images section of this listing. This issue is also an oversized edition at 8.5" x 11.5" with 98 pages. A true collector's item of Hakuho's amazing career.

The Official August 2021 Sumo magazine features Yokozuna Hakuho after his Day 15 victory over Ozeki Terunofuji. Hakuho's win gave him the July championship with an undefeated record. Though a loss for Terunofuji, his performance in this tournament and his prior tournament wins gained him a promotion to Yokozuna.
